Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) continues to strengthen its strategic network with industry through the signing of three important documents in conjunction with the Festival Idea Putrajaya (FOI) 2025, held at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) on 4 November 2025. The ceremony witnessed the exchange of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between UPM and Biotropics Malaysia Berhad, a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between UPM and Digital Nasional Berhad for the 5G Network Coverage for UPM AI Sandbox project, as well as an Intellectual Property Licensing Agreement between UPM and QKAZ Kuantera Sdn. SERDANG – The PPAUPM Roadshow Program, titled “KPI vs KIP: Members’ Well-Being?”, was held on 11 August 2026. This roadshow was attended by members from the Centre for Foundation Studies, FBMK, SBE, FHAS, UCTC, FSTM, FPP, FK, FP and FBSB. The attendance and active participation of members provided a valuable platform for meaningful discussions, particularly on the annual performance assessment system for academic officers involving KPI and KIP components. Various views, issues and suggestions for improvement were raised during the session. Among the matters discussed were the appropriateness of KPI targets and weightings according to job scope, clarity and consistency in KIP assessment, fairness in the evaluation process, recognition of the diverse contributions of academic officers, and the need to improve the performance assessment process and governance. All views and suggestions received through this roadshow series will be consolidated and brought to the relevant parties for further consideration and attention.
